Katherine Shaloo Berg, FAIA
Katherine is a designer, with 30 years of experience at ZGF Architects, and advocate for compelling change in the building industry to enrich the human experience and raise environmental performance. Her detailed programming and analysis on diverse project typologies – including research laboratories, campuses, childcare centers, and professional sports training facilities – have resulted in unique, resource-efficient solutions. From a net-zero building in one of the country’s coldest climate zones to the 35th fully certified Living Building in the world, Kathy designs first-of-their-kind, high-performance spaces. Her data-informed designs celebrate their place and set new expectations for how the built environment can positively impact our health and communities.
Jason Takeuchi, AIA
Jason is a mission-driven architect at Ferraro Choi in Honolulu, Hawai‘i. He is passionate about building resilience of his community through stewardship of the unique culture and environment of Hawai‘i and the Pacific. Jason received a Doctor of Architecture degree from the University of Hawai‘i.
Jason currently serves as 2026-2028 At-Large Director on the National Board of The American Institute of Architects (AIA) and was 2024 Chair of the AIA National Young Architects Forum, representing 20,000 emerging architects globally. In his community, Jason volunteers with the Liljestrand Foundation, Hawaii Architectural Foundation and Scouting America’s Aloha Council. Jason is a recipient of the 2018 AIA Associates Award, Building Design + Construction Magazine’s 40 Under 40 recognition and the 2023 AIA Young Architects Award.
Eric R. Hoffman, AIA NCARB LEED AP
Eric is a leading architect and educator with over twenty-five years of experience. As a founding partner of Patterhn Ives and in collaboration with numerous firms, Eric has designed and led a diverse range of award-winning cultural, civic, public and academic projects including the Walker Art Center with HGA & Herzog and de Meuron and the Saint Louis Art Museum expansion with HOK & David Chipperfield Architects. His commitment to design, innovation, mentorship and the environment was recognized with a National AIA Young Architects Award in 2013. As a Professor of Practice, Eric has taught at numerous schools across the Midwest including Washington University in St. Louis and is an influential voice shaping the future of architectural practice.
